PT TIPS Inovasi Indonesia collaborates with Citilink Indonesia, PT Angkasa Pura II, PT. Angkasa Pura Logistik and PT Angkasa Pura Kargo for the use of passenger baggage.

JAKARTA (infolog): “Every passenger on a domestic flight, has a baggage allowance of 15-20 kg. The fact that is interesting is that domestic passenger baggage is rarely used by passengers because they prefer to take goods to the plane,” said Vincent Kusuma, CEO of PT TIPS Inovasi Indonesia in Jakarta, Wednesday (15 / 8) as quoted by as saying.

On the other hand, the growth of e-commerce transaction value in Indonesia reaches 78 percent per year, the highest in the world today, which raises the need for shipping services of around 80 million packages per month.

Now this is what inspired the launch of the TIPS application, a digital platform that utilizes unused passenger baggage allowance to deliver goods between cities quickly and safely, and arrives at the destination on the same day.

“Through the Innovation TIPS application available on Android and iOS, passengers who have unused baggage allowances can get incentives by sharing the baggage. That way indirectly, the cost of flights for passengers becomes more affordable,” he said.

TIPS also collaborates with PT. Angkasa Pura II (Persero), PT. Angkasa Pura Logistik and PT. Angkasa Pura Kargo to ensure the security of the items to be shipped, so that passengers can feel comfortable with the security of the goods guaranteed.

“Citilink also innovates in optimizing the use of passenger baggage so as to make it easier for people who want to deliver goods by arriving on the same day,” said Citilink Indonesia President Director Juliandra Nurtjahjo.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of PT. Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the party fully supports this new service innovation while upholding the security aspects of the service in accordance with the applicable flight regulations.
