PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk (PSSI) has secured a $ 39 million contract from PT Jembayan Muarabara (JMB), a subsidiary of Sakari Resources Group, which has been managing coal mines from PTT Thailand’s business group.
JAKARTA (infolog): President Director of Pelita Samudera Shipping, Iriawan Ibarat, said the $ 39 million contract was procured through a tender related to coal transportation from Sepak Mahakam Terminal, Kutai, East Kalimantan to PT Paiton Energy in Probolinggo, East Java, which is one of the largest power plants in Indonesia.
“This new contract will add to the high level of investor confidence in the performance of the Company in the logistics industry,” he said Saturday (3/2) as quoted by Koran-jakarta.com as saying.
The company is optimistic that the double-digit growth target in 2018 will be achieved, as it did in 2017. Last year, the Company posted revenue growth of around 34 percent higher than 2016.
He concluded the contract adds a three-year barging transhipment contract announced in January 2018 to 18 million US dollars. Accordingly, the total contract awarded by the Company from PT Jembayan Muarabara is 57 million US dollars with a total tonnage of 11 million US dollars within 3 to 5 years.
The signing of the cooperation contract was made on January 26, 2018.
Earlier, the Company acquired a new $ 18 million contract from JMB. The value of the new contract for coal haulage services with minimum volume guarantee of 2 million metric tons per year.
The cooperative contract period is set to three years and will expire in 2020.
“The company is optimistic that the minimum volume warranty of 2 million metric tons per year will be achieved in accordance with the agreed agreement,” he said.
Based on the contract of cooperation, JMB will contain coal at the Company’s barges at the loading of Separi Mahakam terminals, Tenggarong Seberang and the Kutai Kartanegara district in East Kalimantan.
JBM is one of the Company’s trusted customers since 2007; with this new contract proving a high degree of confidence in coal business actors on the Company’s performance in the logistics industry.
In addition to barging services, JMB is also a customer for coal hauling in Floating Loading Facility services.
The Company is a seaport service for the last 10 years for transportation and transfer of coal which provides tugs and barges facilities, floating loading facilities, floating loading facilities (Floating Crane) in an integrated way that gives value added to consumers. (ac)
