Pelni Logistics, a subsidiary of PT Pelni (Persero), targets profit earnings of 2018 to be worth Rp49 billion or increased from 2017 worth Rp45 billion, following the positive growth forecast for the logistics sector in the next few years.
JAKARTA (infolog0; “Yes, our target is this year,” Pelni Logistics Director Suharyanto said when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday as quoted by Antaranews as saying.
The target, according to him, will be achieved through efforts to increase dry bulk unloading and synergies with other state companies.
“Dry bulk loading will grow positively after the Sea Tol Program since November 2015, in particular to increase the equality of growth in the eastern region of the country,” he said.
In addition, he said, business development in the logistics sector was still wide open with the new Pelni logistics office occupancy of about 70 percent today.
Suharyanto also explained that it will increase the loading and unloading activities of the non-captive sector in the form of coal and other general cargo of 5.3 million tons this year.
“It’s a significant 2016 rise of just 1.8 million tons,” he said.
The Company, established since March 31, 1986 under the name of PT Sarana Bandar Nasional, has started to provide loading and unloading services from and to the company’s parent or other company’s vessels. (ac)
