PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) and PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (Garuda) cooperate with cargo delivery service. These two State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) will combine the networks owned by each company to expand the delivery range.
JAKARTA (infolog): The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Pelni’s freight business director Harry Boediarto and Garuda Indonesia cargo director Sigit Muhartono in Jakarta on Thursday (5/24/2018).
Harry said that cooperation with Garuda will strengthen the freight business of Pelni, because the company can rely on air cargo from Garuda.
In contrast, Garuda also deepens the penetration of regional cargo coverage that is not reached by air transport modes through the Pelni network.
“By cooperating with Garuda Indonesia, Pelni’s business in logistic services will be more competitive and tough,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday (5/24/2018) quoted by Bisnis.com as saying.
On the other hand, Sigit said that cooperation with Pelni will provide added value for Garuda in cargo service. Both parties also agreed to run the Garuda-Pelni outlet service to market cargo services to service users.
“The cooperation with Pelni is part of the company’s expansion in expanding its cargo network,” he said
He added that the optimization of the cargo network will be a focal point for Garuda to gain revenue from the cargo business of US $ 248.3 million this year. (ac)
