PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III) applied the digitalization of ship maintenance services to provide convenience for service users.
SURABAYA (infolog): Human Capital and General Affair Director of Pelindo III c said the digitalization of ship maintenance services is one of the company’s efforts in digitizing logistics business in general.
“Pelindo III encourages the implementation of the Internet of things (IoT) at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, because the logistics efficiency is not only the modernization of heavy equipment, but also in the back office business process,” said Toto in an official statement on Monday, March 5, 2018 as quoted by Tempo.co,as saying .
Toto explained, thanks to the use of technology, meeting service planning for the ship to be docked at the Port of Tanjung Perak can be done in an online meeting without face to face physically.
Since February 2017, Pelindo III has also implemented integrated billing system (IBS) in a platform made by internal IT personnel named Portal Pavilion. A year ago, SOEs based in Surabaya also launched Home Terminal System application.
The Home Terminal application is similar to the marketplace, where service users can choose a variety of port services from existing port service providers at a transparent price.
In the initial stage, this application has four main features, namely vessel service, port activities, logistics, and container management. (ac)
